Types of alarm control panels

Alarm control panels control two states of one or more loops: "normal", corresponding to standby and armed mode, and "alarm". The alarm mode is activated when there is an attempt to damage the devices of the security system, when the territory is entered or when other pathogens of the connected sensors are detected.

The disadvantages of such reception and control panels are apparent; it is the impossibility of precise localization of the operation and the low information content.

There are no such gaps in the addressing of signaling devices to protect the territory. They allow to connect about 100 alarm sensors to a two-wire line, depending on the type of control panel.

The digital method of data transmission increases the information content of the alarm loop, which contributes to the reliability of the security system. Since the implementation of the address principle requires the use of microprocessor control, these control panels can create different types of security zones, organize the interaction with other types of executive devices and configure them flexibly.

It is important to note that the compatibility of security sensors with the alarm panel must be ensured when using addressable systems.

Another type of control panel is wireless. Devices of this type are radio frequency receivers with various monitoring functions. Professional radio channel systems include a set of devices with a different set of options. For example, an alarm control and management center can operate with wired loops and at the same time support the interface connection of a radio receiver.

In this case, the control center only receives data and transmits it for further processing. This operating principle allows you to create security systems of various capacities and complexity, suitable for installation in private houses, summer cottages or apartments.

 

Installation and assembly of the reception panel

The installation of the security system devices is carried out according to the rules that provide :

• Even minimal risk of unauthorized access to the alarm and controls and switching devices.
• Efficiency and reliability of the security system.
• Fire and electrical safety.

To comply with the standards, the control panel must be installed on non-combustible surfaces and make connections to the electrical network with wires of appropriate section with high quality insulation. If the design of the control panel requires grounding, this should not be overlooked.

Attention should be paid to the mounting and installation instructions enclosed with any device, and often have individual specifications for a particular type of equipment.

To protect devices during unattended periods, they should be mounted in spaces with limited access to unauthorized persons. Most burglar alarm devices are equipped with tamper sensors so that the alarm control device itself can be protected at all times.

The Ajax Hub 2 alarm control panel is a device for organizing a remote or stand-alone alarm based on wireless sensors and other devices using 2 GSM SIM cards and an Ethernet network. The alarm control panel coordinates the operation of the alarm system devices, immediately reports alarms and provides automatic intelligent control of security processes.

The Ajax security system with the Ajax Hub 2 connected control panel (2G or 4G) supports the maximum number of:

The body of the control panel is made of black or white plastic, which makes it possible to integrate the device in any interior. Power is supplied by an internal AC 110-240V power supply or a Li-Ion battery backup with a capacity of 2 Ah.

 

Features of the Ajax Hub 2 alarm system (2G or 4G)

Security system sensors detect the appearance of human movement, smoke, water, gas leaks, open windows or doors. Third-party cameras are used for video surveillance. Alarm notifications are sent to users via push notifications, SMS or phone calls, and it is also possible to connect an alarm to a security organization's control panel.

   

Redundant control panel communication channels

The GSM Hub 2 module supports two SIM cards. Using cards from two different operators allows the control panel to communicate even if one of the networks is lost - the second SIM card is automatically activated.

Users of the Hub 2 signaling control panel have access to an uninterrupted Internet connection, thanks to working with different Internet providers; cellular to connect to one, Ethernet to the other.

Even if the service provider goes down and the Ethernet connection is lost, the Hub 2 will connect to the 2G or 4G network to access the Internet. If coverage from one carrier is lost, the hub will immediately switch to the second SIM card.

Unlike video surveillance, Ajax Hub 2 (2G or 4G) can transmit photo confirmations even if the connection speed is only 0.5 Kbps on a 2G network and provides a series of images to system users.

   

Secure communication with video cameras, sensors, signal repeaters

The Ajax Hub 2 alarm control panel receives sensor information in encrypted form and runs on OS Malevich with protection against viruses and cyber attacks. The Hub continuously checks the sensor status every 12 to 300 seconds using two-way communication. The check frequency is individually configurable.

Ajax Hub 2 switches the signaling to other frequencies if signal interference is detected. The Hub is fully protected against viruses at the software level.

An Internet connection allows Ajax Hub 2 to communicate 24 hours a day via an encrypted channel with the Ajax Cloud server. This operating principle guarantees a fast reception of updates, a secure access to the device and the storage of its parameters.

 

Photo-verification of alarms

A distinctive feature of Ajax Hub 2 of the Hub and Hub Plus control panels is the expansion of the possibilities of transmitting visual information and connecting Ajax MotionCam motion sensors with an integrated camera through the Wings radio protocol.

MotionCam provides the system user with an animated series of 1-5 photos, which they will receive within 9 seconds of detecting and triggering the sensor. Thanks to the Wings radio protocol, photo-verification is guaranteed even with an unstable signal and communication interruptions - built-in algorithms recheck and reload packets, and the reliability of the communication channel is increased by using a dedicated antenna at the control panel.

When an alarm is detected, the alarm sensor can take up to three images at 640×480 or up to 5 images at 320×240, depending on the settings. The Ajax application reproduces the photo in animation, providing dynamic information for proper assessment of the situation.

The camera's infrared illumination provides good visibility even in the dark and is only activated in case of an alarm. Snapshots can be recorded as a series of photos or MP4 videos at once or individually.

   

Installation and configuration of the Ajax Hub 2 (2G or 4G)

Ajax Hub 2 is mounted on the SmartBracket and the built-in power supply allows you to connect the unit directly to the power supply without installing a plug.

Alarm sensors are connected via a free phone app after reading the QR code on the device. The sensors are installed in a line-of-sight area up to 2 km or on several floors of the building. Ajax's sensors operate without recharging for up to 7 years, taking pings every minute to verify device performance.
