Ubiquiti Networks

Ubiquiti Networks is an American manufacturer of high-performance network components. Ubiquiti's goal is to provide advanced and easy-to-deploy communication solutions for a global clientele. The company was founded in 2005 and initially manufactured WLAN adapters for PCs. Later, the range was expanded to include devices such as WLAN routers, particularly for outdoor use. In the meantime, switches and surveillance cameras are also manufactured by the company. Ubiquiti products typically convince with their superior performance, intelligent mechanical design, and ease of use.

Power over Ethernet (PoE)

With Power over Ethernet, you can power compatible devices directly via the network cable, eliminating the need for an additional power cable. Especially for end devices such as wireless access points, IP phones, and IP cameras, this reduces the amount of cabling and at the same time allows a high degree of flexibility in placing the end devices.

802.3bt PoE++

The IEEE 802.3bt standard is also called Four-Pair-Power-over-Ethernet (4PPoE) or PoE++. By using all available wires for power transmission, the power of PoE++ increases to 70 to 100 watts. The underlying idea is to power the entire workstation via the data cable. This way, economical computers with a screen, including the phone, could be operated via a single LAN cable.
