Ubiquiti Networks

Ubiquiti Networks is an American manufacturer of high-performance networking components. Ubiquiti's goal is to provide advanced and easy-to-deploy communication solutions to a global clientele. The company was founded in 2005 and initially manufactured WLAN adapters for PCs. Later, the range was extended to devices such as WLAN routers, particularly for outdoor use. In the meantime, the company also manufactures switches and surveillance cameras. Ubiquiti products generally stand out for their superior performance, smart mechanical design, and ease of use.

Power over Ethernet (PoE)

With Power over Ethernet, you can power compatible devices directly through the network cable, eliminating the need for an additional power cable. This is particularly beneficial for endpoint devices such as wireless access points, IP phones, and IP cameras, reducing the amount of cabling and providing a high degree of flexibility in device placement.

802.3at PoE+

The IEEE 802.3at standard offers a maximum of 25.4 watts of power with a voltage of up to 50 volts per PoE+ port. The standard assumes that after line losses, 21.90 watts of usable power remains or can be consumed without exceeding the maximum output power. For PoE+, a Cat5e/6 cable with a maximum length of 100m is recommended.
